Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year
The PSSA Board wishes all our members a Happy Thanksgiving, a Joy-filled Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year. Take time to celebrate with family and friends. Safe travels!
Now that the Presidential election has concluded we can turn our attention to snowmobile recreation. It is important that we work together. Please take the opportunity to meet/e-mail your local and state representatives. Explain the enthusiasm you have for the sport. Express your concerns/comments. Tell them how they can help. We all need to work together.
The PowerSport Show report is incomplete. The Show produced more income but we do not have all the expenses tabulated. We will announce more information on our website as it becomes available.

As I stated in the November issue of the Keystone Snowmobiler Discussion continues with representatives of the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources concerning an increase in the Registration Fee. We would like a state-wide program similar to NY. Now that the election is finished we will be meeting with select representatives to move this forward.
Please return your Registration Renewal as soon as possible. The Registration process is much more efficient when renewals are done sooner rather than at the last moment.
Region One is currently pursuing a Safety Check/ Law Enforcement project with the local State Police. Meetings are being held to discuss what/when/why this needs to be done. Without registration/insurance enforcement why would anyone care to purchase a registration sticker? If snowmobilers do not purchase a Registration sticker who will pay for the grooming and maintenance of our trails? Who will promote snowmobile recreation in the Commonwealth?
Welcome to our newest snowmobile club Bald Eagle Snow Riders at Penns Creek. This club is interested in connecting the trails in the Weikert area of Penns Creek. Glen Knisely, former Board Member, and I are meeting with Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCNR) personnel and representatives of the club to discuss how this can be accomplished. If you have any ideas let me know. There are several private landowners in the area that we have not been able to contact.
Reminder: PSSA has several committees. We are asking for anyone who is interested in any of the committees listed in the Keystone Snowmobiler to send me an e-mail with your information. An important committee which the Board has just approved is the Fund-raising Committee. We need your ideas and help to make PSSA financially viable.
