Happy Fourth of July!
The Association extends a huge “Thank You” to all those who have served or are presently serving our country. This includes their families as well. Without their spirit of patriotism we would not have the freedoms we have today.
This is the time of year when clubs work on trails. Just because it is summer this work continues and it will help to produce a better riding season in the winter. Thank you to all those volunteers who help maintain our 6000 miles of trail. You may not realize it but several clubs help work on State trails and the Allegheny National Forest. Projects which involve the Game Commission are in the planning stages.
The economic significance of snowmobile trails is approximately $232,000,000.00. Many of our establishments that support snowmobile recreation would close during the winter months if the trails did not remain open for the snowmobile season.
Thank you to those clubs who do not have trails to maintain but do much to support the Pennsylvania State Snowmobile Association (PSSA) in other ways. They donate to our auction and support our Membership Meeting. You will see them at the Show and the Safety Class. They have bought raffle tickets for many years. Thank you.
Hopefully, you have noticed that the Standing Committees listed on the inside cover of the front page have the Chair of the Committee listed. All Committees are reorganized at the summer Board Meeting. Those who were part of a committee last year should volunteer again this year. Others please consider working with one of these committees. New volunteers help reenergize the Board and bring new ideas to the table for discussion. Contact the Chair listed.
Keep in touch by visiting the website: www.pasnow.org We are now beginning to accept sponsors for various segments of our website. Contact Kathy Woolever if you are interested or want more information. It is a great way to showcase your business or club.
The Board will begin to analyze various activities and sponsorships of PSSA. We need to ask ourselves how this activity or sponsorship is promoting PSSA and snowmobile recreation in general. Is there a better way?
Your support of the PowerSport Show is needed. Please encourage potential vendors to contact Kathy Woolever for information. Volunteers should contact Travis Mathna.
Directors are needed for the following Regions: 2, 4 (EAST), 6, 7, 10. Call one of the Officers if you are interested or need more information.

Kathy is always in need of pictures etc. for our Facebook page. Her information is on the inside front cover page of the Keystone Snowmobiler.
Clubs are reminded to make sure you are following the Small Games of Chance Regulations in your County. You need a license and a permit. Check with your County Treasurer and make sure you have the required information on file.
